The point of this blog is to chronicle something we're all told to do, but rarely ever do.
Save. I'm curious as to how much on average I lose/cast away in terms of *change*. That is to say the uneven amount of coins that are given to me when I make a purchase using dollars. I never took note of how much I lose. Til my coin pouch on my wallet burst due to being filled up with what I at the time called crap.
Upon collecting the lose change, (Leaving some of the remaining coinage because it was "Worthless" to me. I proceeded to return home and dump it on the table. I counted it out, out of sheer curiosity. And what did I find? Thirteen dollars and forty six cents.
By no means was that a groundbreaking amount of money... But it was still a nice chunk on it's own.
Then I began to wonder. Had I been doing wrong my whole life casting away the occasional penny and dime? Was it important to actually save them? And if so how long would it be before those cents turned into amounts worth having?
Well that's what this blog is about.
I'll document where my change stack is, and how much I've put away on average every day. This will include requesting the pennies and dimes that my friends/family get as well (Assuming they'll give them to me.)
If you've got extra change. And trust the post office. I'll eventually even set up a way for you to contribute. Though the main focus is of course... Just one man's change.
